SORA
SORA is a volunteer-matching and activity-tracking app built to reduce the friction around finding opportunities and managing participation. Designed, developed, and shipped as a solo Builder project, it focuses on turning scattered volunteer information into a clean, guided experience anyone can navigate.

SORA started from a simple observation: people want to participate in volunteer work, but the process of finding programs, applying, and tracking hours is fragmented and frustrating. Most information lives across multiple websites, forms, and community posts, creating unnecessary barriers for first-time volunteers.
The app centralizes the entire flow—discovering opportunities, managing attendance, and tracking completed activities—into a single, intuitive interface. Users can browse programs, apply with minimal steps, and automatically record participation without maintaining separate notes or documents.
Building SORA as a solo project reinforced a core Builder mindset: start with real user friction and design backward from the moment of action. Every feature, from the card-based program list to automated activity logs, was shaped around reducing cognitive load and lowering the barrier to participation.
SORA represents an exploration into how product design and lightweight automation can make civic engagement more accessible. It is not just an app, but a reflection of how thoughtful workflows can encourage more people to contribute where they’re needed
